Description
This species of the Death Head's Moth is primarily found in Europe. The are easily distinguishable by a human skull shaped pattern of markings on the thorax. They have been commonly observed raiding beehives of different species of honeybee for honey. They can move about in hives unmolested because they mimic the scent of the bees. This moth was also featured in the movie Silence of the lambs. A very unique moth!
